We've had big turnover and big changes in Pennyland. Our loving founder met a man from Bristol. Enough said. She's across the pond now and married fervently searching for Reese's pieces. Apparently their are none in England. She expressed gratitude this week for actually being able to track down a stash of Twizzlers. Our paper maven Ming is also married with a new baby. She designs wedding invitations now in her spare time (insert laughter here because you and I both know she has no spare time). And then there were two.
I'm trying my best to resuscitate our little thing but it looks like it is now my little thing.
And I'm kicking it off with a show at the Kirkwood Spring Fling in beautiful Atlanta Georgia USA on May 15th. The film I'm working on will be wrapped up nice and neat and it will be time for copious bloody marys and rampant crafting.

I've gone paintin' crazy!
I found this big guy sitting next to the dumpster outside my apartment. It had and an odd beginning of some terrible pencil drawing. So I incorporated some of the lines into this guy. Of course I didn't take a before picture, that would make sense. So the picture above is about 3 hours into it.
Love,

The Long Awaited ICE Atlanta Blog.
What a beautiful day in Centennial Olympic Park. The sun I have to say was working overtime because I think the lot of the Sticky Pennies became baked Pennies. Our day started off kinda strange. Our lovely tent generously provided by Ms. Haley had to be evacuated due to its very rickety frame. But the lovely Park staff gladly walked it to it's final resting place.
Ms. Lori Ming out of sheer devotion to our little cause ran out and found us a totally acceptable substitute and saved the day. While on her journey found the most amazing contraption in the world the now infamous O2 Cool. Many jokes followed and some of us left the batterized fan in our laps the majority of the day.We talked to tons of people and got to browse through the crowds of great Crafty Ladies and Gents. (one of my many favorites were the tiny hat people) All and all was a good day and great opportunity to kinda get out what our mission as a collective is: Making some dough for cute shit you make!
The proposed raffle idea didn't go as well as planned but a few people got to enjoy interesting gifts given made by us (at one point we kinda gave the bags out to people that we though struck as deserving )
Now back to getting crafty for the hell of it until we decide to do some crazy festivalness again. In the future we hope to expand our horizons and are actually talking to a coupla cool spots that we could possibly become vendors. So look out we may be coming to a boutique or gallery or market near you.

Thanks to every one that showed for our first LARGE craft festival. We had a blast!(sorta)
Love always,
Lori Mac.

Our Fun times @Mondo Homo!
Well as far as little craft fair thingys go this one was pretty tops. Our little booth sat right next to the stage where delicious(and sometimes strange) bands played.

It was weird sitting there and telling people about your stuff and watching people touch your stuff. I liked the idea of sitting in a tent in some weird parking lot soaking up all the bizarre people that walk past you. It was a great success though. Lori Ming,Leah ,Haley,Kathy and I all go to know each other better. We got to eat shitty fair type food. Drink liquor and beer and soak up an interesting counter culture that most people ignore. But I guess the best part of the whole day was seeing how great our little handi-crafts looked together. We are all such different ladies, but when it comes down to it cute is cute in every language!
I love all my Sticky Pennies girls. Everyone is so talented and unique in every way. I can't wait for you to meet them. Pretty good lookin' if i say so myself.
( l-r Kathy,Lori Ming,Haley and Lori)
Now we are all preparing for one of the biggest craft shows in the Southeast. I can't wait to meet all the other crafty ladies(and gents) from all over that are going to be at the Youngblood Gallery Friday night. Don't forget to come and see us Saturday @ ICE Atlanta in beautiful Centennial Olympic park.(Located directly in front of the band stage.) We might have baked goods. Think about that. www.ice-atlanta.com

Lori

Savannah New Moon Market
Hey Y'all!
I just got back from Savannah and just gotta let you know you missed a good time.
Leah & I took off like a shot gun blast out of the A.T.L. Friday afternoon and made it into Savannah in record time. At Kristen's, Leah put some finishing touches are some of her beautiful rings made from vintage buttons then it was time for a late night pizza feast and straight to bed. (Set up for the show started at 6:30 am!) I rolled out about 5:30 am to the sound of someone's alarm doing the snooze circuit over and over again. Thanks to coffee and being well prepared it didn't take us long to drag ourselves down to the Old Sears Building near beautiful Forsythe Park. I have to say that I did continue to rearrange things in the booth over and over for the next few hours 'cause I just can't leave well enough alone. This is the first annual New Moon Market so it was still a little light on vendors but foot traffic from the park was good. We made gas and beer money and that's what truly matters. Our afternoon was cut a little short by a quick afternoon storm shower and we all learned a valuable lesson about thinking under the table means dry. We were set up right over a low spot in the lot and had a mini river rushing right under our table. Luckily it didn't last and nothing really important got wet. Now we know, right?
Kristen went to work afterwards at a local vintage clothing store and Leah and I did the customary pub crawl through River Street. I've never been to Savannah before so I guess it's part of your initiation to do the riverfront, beer in hand. About 7:00 pm it was time to go meet back up with Kristen and head back to the house. Needless to say, I was not ready to continue into the evening debauchery with the Faircloth family so I begged out and spent the rest of the evening between reading and dozing in the dining room floor. Kristen & Leah headed out to meet their brother, Alex, with attached roommates and significant others with a "Oh, just one beer and then we'll be back...". Right. I later heard there were Car Bombs involved. Irish Car Bombs. If you've never had one I suggest you order one. They give new meaning to the phrase "crawling from the wreckage". All's well that ends well though and we were hugging necks and hopping in the truck by 11:30 the next day. Next stop, Hwy. 441, Milledgeville, rummage shopping and buzzing back into town by early evening.
I can't wait to go back and see more of the city. It's very pretty and the people are super nice. Thanks again, Kristen for the invite and playing hostess.
See you soon!
Love, Haley
